Prevention
- Adults only: you must be 18 or older to have a Derby account.
- No direct messages: Derby has no private messaging, so there is no inbox anyone can write into.
- Friends are mutual: a friendship needs both people to agree. There are no followers.
- Photos reach friends only: someone who isn’t your friend can see your name, handle, and profile photo, but not your photos or plans.
- Blocking is total: a blocked person can’t find you or see anything you post.
Reporting and moderation
- In-app reporting: anyone can report a person or a photo from inside the app, with child safety as a reason.
- Priority review: reports involving possible CSAE are reviewed first, typically within hours.
- Immediate removal: accounts are suspended and content removed as soon as a CSAE violation is confirmed. No warnings, no appeals.
- NCMEC reporting: all confirmed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children through the CyberTipline, as required by U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
- Law enforcement: we cooperate with law enforcement investigations and preserve evidence as the law requires.
If you come across content involving the exploitation of a minor, report it in the app or write to safety@derbysocial.app. Don’t engage with, screenshot, or redistribute it. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Derby complies with applicable child safety laws, including:
- Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
- 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (mandatory reporting)
- The PROTECT Act and related federal statutes
- Applicable state laws on child safety
